The weekend features the songs of the late Garry McMahon, son of the late Brian McMahon writer and balladeer and collector of songs and stories, Singers and storytellers and balladeers come from all over the country to participate in this unique event, everyone gets a chance to air their song or story. Workshops on the art of composing newly composed ballads, and the singing of same will be provided by Dick Bemish from Cork, all ages are welcome to attend these free workshops. Newly Composed ballad competition on Sat 4pm with prizes for 1st 2nd 3rd, €300 first prize and a perpetual trophy provided by the McMahon family.
