Did you know?

Ireland is now widely known as the Emerald Isle, but did you ever wonder where the phrase actually came from? It originally appeared in a poem called Erin published in 1800 by William Drennan: “Nor one feeling of vengeance presume to defile / The Curse of the men from the Emerald Isle.” Drennan is buried at the Clifton Street Cemetery, Belfast dsadas.
