The Celtic Tenors

Dungannon

27 September 2012 - 27 September 2012

The Hill will be alive during the Festival with the sound of Ireland’s recording and touring phenomenon – the Celtic Tenors. This popular trio is the largest selling classical crossover group ever to come out of Ireland. Matthew Gilsenan, Daryl Simpson and James Nelson have successfully transcended their classical roots to embrace a wide range of musical forms, including folk and pop. They have recorded with such stars as Samantha Mumba and Brian Kennedy, performed for world dignitaries such as Kofi Annan and former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Clinton has since said that The Celtic Tenors’ version of his favorite song, “Danny Boy,” is the best he’s ever heard! Their most recent Telarc release ‘Feels Like Home’ (October 2011) features the RTE Concert Orchestra and the Omagh Community Youth Choir.

On Festive Hill they will be supported by An Cor Gaeilge and Dungannon Choral Society, as well as one of Ireland’s rising young opera stars – Gemma Prince.
