Irish International Fly Fair
Downpatrick
29 June 2013 - 30 June 2013
With the help of Down District Council, this is the sixth successive year of the ’Fair‘, having evolved from the ’Killyleagh Fly Fair‘ it is now in its fourth rear as IIFF and is again hosted by the Dibney River Conservation Trust, a not for profit organisation based in the village of Killyleagh.
Please browse our website where you will find information on some of the world's top fly tyers who will be coming to Killyleagh, the fly casting workshops and demonstrations delivered by AAPGAI and APGAI Ireland, the childrens workshops hosted by Ted Malone and APGAI Ireland and the talks and discussion forums covering a variety of subjects. We will also have top quality exhibitors with the latest products for sale.
With a fantastic weekend on offer and with an opportunity to see some of the "World's best" showcasing their fly tying art and casting skills "The Dibney River Conservation Trust" will be delighted to see you at the 'Fair'. A nominal donation of £5.00 to the Trust at the door is requested with children under 15 accompanied by an adult free.
The ethos of our ’Fair‘ is to continue to highlight the Trust's struggle in its attempt to restore the infrastructure of the Dibney River that flows through the village of Killyleagh then into Strangford Lough, and a strength of this ’Fair‘ is its emphasis on involving the young people of the district. The venues used are throughout the village, including the impressive Killyleagh Castle.
