Kilkenny’s 3rd annual 5k Santa Charity Run will take place on Saturday the 15 December 2012 at 12 noon. Participants of all fitness levels are very welcome to take part in this fantastic fun day out for all the family. while preparing to get into the Christmas spirit and in doing so supporting the local Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre. Please come dressed as Santa, or wear your Santa hat!!! (no costumes provided). There will be prizes awarded for best costumes!! Registration will take place from 9.30am Saturday 15th. in the 'Left Bank' Cost of entry: Families €15; Adults €10; Child/Students €5. At 12noon all will meet outside the Castle Park gates to get our photos taken as a large group, then we will walk through the Castle grounds to the stairs that lead down to the Canal Square where the race will start at 12.20pm approx. Route Directions: Starting on the Canal Square at John's Bridge / Canal Walk to exit at Blackquarry Hill / Bennettsbridge Roundabout / Watershed Leisure Centre / Pass Supervalue / Lidl Roundabout / Aldi roundabout to Nuncio Road / enter Castle Park via Switzer's Gate / Run down through the Park / Exit through the Arch to finish on The Parade Plaza. All proceeds raised will be donated to Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre. This charity supports the needs of cancer sufferers and their families across Kilkenny City and County and works to improve the lives and well-being of those coming to terms with a cancer diagnosis.
