AIB GAA Club Championship Finals take place on St. Patrick's Day each year in the GAA's national stadium, Croke Park. Both Gaelic football and hurling games are played on the day where the Club, the cornerstone and bedrock of the Association is centre stage. All GAA players at senior inter-county level start playing and continue to play with their Clubs - hence the important significance of the day. The Andy Merrigan Cup and Tommy Moore Cup are awarded to the football and hurling winners respectively with both competitions having begun in 1971.
