Annual International Festival for Irish Harp - An Chúirt Chruitireachta

The 28th International Harp Festival - An Chúirt Chruitireachta will feature evening concerts, workshops and a harp exhibition. A stellar line-up of leading Irish and international harpists will be joined by world renowned traditional musicians. The theme of this year's event will be the diverse harp traditions of Ireland interacting with harp traditions of Scotland, Wales, Britanny and Denmark. Daily harp classes and afternoon workshops will be directed by a team of inspiring harpists and musicians in the elegant country house surroundings of An Grianán. An exhibition of Irish and international harp makers is free and open daily. Concerts each evening at 8pm will include a stellar line-up of internationally acclaimed artists including a tribute concert to Derek Bell of the Chieftains. Harpist Tríona Marshall will be joined by colleagues of Derek to celebrate the memory of one of Ireland's best-loved and greatest harpists. Other concerts will feature, among others, an eclectic mix of performers including harpists Savourna Stevenson (Scotland), Gwenan Gibbard (Wales), Florian Blancke (France), Anne-Marie O'Farrell (Ireland) and Michelle Mulcahy (Ireland) and virtuoso accordionist Dermot Dunne and Altan fiddle player Dermot Byrne.
