This O'Donnell Clan Gathering is for all O' Donnells and friends to come together for 5 days to enjoy and experience O'Donnell Clan history, heritage and one another's company. It is an opportunity for O'Donnells and friends to come to Donegal, land of their ancestors and see where their ancestors lived, learn how they lived and the part they played in Irish history and in European history, experience what Donegal has to offer, culture, food and drink; meet other O' Donnells from Donegal and abroad, compare family trees, witness the wild beauty of the county and make new friends. The Gathering is based in Donegal Town where the O'Donnell chieftains had their last stronghold and from where they ruled Tyrconnell and sometimes, neighbouring territories until the collapse of the old Gaelic order around 1600.
