Elverys Sport Achill Half Marathon

Achill Island

05 July 2013 - 06 July 2013

The Elverys Sports Achill Half Marathon attracts thousands of runners and spectators each year. Right from the start the Achill pipers lift your spirits and get you in tune with the natural beauty of Achill Island, as you start towards Keel Golf Links, nestled under the Minaun Cliffs and onwards to the steady climb up Maum. At the 4 mile point in Bunnacurry, the route descends to the Valley with magnificent views of the Nephin mountain range. Onwards towards Dugort passing the blue flag beaches of The Golden Strand and Dugort Beach, Slievemore Mountain and towards the Deserted Village and onto the home straight to Keel. Runners will receive an Elverys Sports technical t-shirt, a specially-designed medal, a goody bag, a running chip; plenty of water, bananas and jellies along the route; and food. There is a free massage service available at the end of the race and the medical and communication teams are on standby to ensure that your safety is paramount. This day would not be possible without the help of the encouraging and enthusiastic volunteers!
