National Country Fair
Borris
03 August 2013 - 04 August 2013
The National Country Fair is Ireland's national countryside event. This two-day family orientated fair is a mix of fishing, shooting, gundog and equestrian events and competitions. But that's not all on offer at Borris House in South Co. Carlow over the August Bank Holiday weekend! Visitors can enjoy one of the country's largest food festivals with dozens of artisan producers, a crafts fair and an antiques fair. There are pet shows, have-a-go activities like archery, clay pigeon shooting, flying birds of prey or racing ferrets! How about live music each day, a traditional beer tent or some of the famous Borris lamb to tempt the taste buds? The event's main arena is brimming with attractions like the Irish Strongman Challenge, air show, dogs and ducks, horses and hounds and vintage vehicles. With over 200 trade stalls there this is a fantastic outdoor shopping opportunity for every member of the family and there are always bargains to be had at this event! The National Country Fair is one of the year's 'not to miss' events in the grounds of a jewel of an Irish Country House in the South Carlow town of Borris. For more information see website. A treat for all the family!
