Youghal's Mackerel Festival celebrates the town's association with the sea and fine food. Each year sees mackerel caught by local fisherman cooked by the finest restaurants in Youghal at Barry's Lane where they are served for free to visitors. Barbequed, fired, grilled, boiled, roasted, smoked - a wide variety of dishes are offered while live music, family fun events and entertainment pack the three day festival. Restaurants offer special dishes throughout the weekend with everything that's great about food in Youghal celebrated!
