2nd Gallagher Global Gathering

06 September 2013 - 14 September 2013

The 2nd Gallagher Global Gathering takes place in September 2013 and will be based at Ostan Loch Altan Hotel in the village of Gortahork, Co. Donegal, situated in a traditional Gaelic (Irish language) speaking area with a large population of Gallaghers living in the surrounds. This follows on from the very successful 1st Gallagher Global Gathering held in September 2007. Gallaghers and those with Gallagher in their family tree will receive a royal welcome once again when they come from all over the world to the ancestral homeland of the Gallaghers to join in celebrating their family heritage. It will be a weeklong festival of chat, companionship, entertainment, seminars and talks, history, genealogy and family trees, tours and much more. Visitors will be afforded the opportunity to explore the great outdoors by way of walks and trips along the coast and through the mountains for which this area is famous. They will be introduced to traditional craftsmanship and enjoy the great musical tradition which has helped mould such world famous artists as Clannad, Enya, Altan and Daniel O'Donnell, to name but a few. Already a strong interest in the event has come from all over the world including from many of those who attended the first gathering. Come join them for what will be the event of a lifetime!
