As part of The Gathering celebrations this year, The Doonbeg International Jazz Festival is delighted to welcome old friends and new to enjoy a Jazz packed weekend of fun in Doonbeg. With a full programme of performances and a children’s musical fun day, there is something to suit everyone. This year the festival will feature excellent bands from Germany (Jazzonanz) and The Netherlands (NLX) as well as some of Irelands finest; Ace Minsky, The Downtown Jazz Band, Jazztalk, Zigani, Skazz, Jazzlite and The Corner Quartet. Following the success of last year, The Doonbeg International Jazz Festival 2013 will again be holding a FREE Musical Fun Day for Children” on Saturday 1st June. This is a lovely opportunity for children to explore making music, trying out new instruments and having fun. Run by Ruti Lachs the workshop is themed “Stomping in the Woods”. There will be two sessions for different age groups and the workshops will take place in the Doonbeg Hall. Making Music. 2.30-4pm. 7-12 yr olds. Maximum 20 children. The festival will begin on Fri 31st May with the official Opening of the Festival at the Igoe Inn at 9pm and then there will be non stop music over the whole weekend. All performances are FREE.
