Antonio Julio López Castro Launching Saturday 22nd September at 4pm. Antonio Julio López Castro’s work embodies a reflection on the landscape in which we live, the place we inhabit, and that contains the systems natural and man made of communal life. The paintings address the physicality of the landscape, the process of layering and the use of colour is employed to examine how we connect to that landscape, and to question how the characteristics of a particular place affect us emotionally. Born in Madrid in 1972, Antonio moved to Westport, Co. Mayo, in 1995. He studied Fine Art at Sligo IT receiving an Honours Degree in 2003. He has exhibited in Madrid, London, and widely in Ireland.
