Lorg Fine Art Printmakers Annual Bursary Award Show The recipients of the Lorg Printmaker’s Annual Bursary Award for 2011-2012 will exhibit their new work with the opening of their joint show in City Hall, Galway. The exhibition officially opens with James Harrold in City Hall, Friday, August 24th at 6pm and runs until September 24th, 5pm. “Imagined Landscapes” and “A Path I Slowly Followed” are two new series of works produced by Norah Brennan and Claudia Keegan. Both artists received the 2011/2012 bursaries from Lorg Fine Art Printmakers based in Ballybane Enterprise Centre. This has enabled them to continue their practice in professional surroundings at the Lorg workshop following their graduation from Galway – Mayo Institute of Technology. The exhibition showcases work that had been in the making for the past 12 months. “Imagined Landscapes” - Norah Brennan This work comes, as the title suggests, from the imagination and includes Screen Print, Lino-Cut and Collage. They are light hearted flights of fantasy. Norah’s penchant for vibrant colours shines through this body of work “A Path I Slowly Followed” - Claudia Keegan A Path I Slowly Followed tells a tale of personal journeys. This series of work is an almost abstract journal of the daily thoughts that arise in each of us and yet makes us feel removed from the world. They are a visual monolog of internal conflict.
