Lisdoonvarna Matching Festival 2012 is Europe's biggest singles event. Out in the wild rugged west coast of Ireland in the ancient county of Clare the centuries old tradition of matchmaking lives on. Two hundred years ago there was a matchmaker in every town, but now Willie Daly is Ireland's last matchmaker and he can be seen producing his magic throughout Lisdoonvarna for six weeks each September. Every year, Lisdoonvarna is flooded by thousands of hopeful singles from all over the world seeking the help of Willie who draws on his extensive files, notebooks and ledgers. Many couples also return each year for the music, craic and dancing. Dancing begins daily at 12 noon at the newly renovated Town Hall Pavilion and continues all day at different venues over town until closing time.
