Macroom hosts one of the biggest parades in the Cork/Kerry region at 3.30pm, featuring the Woodland String Band from Philadelphia; Bandon, Ballingeary and Cullen Pipe Bands with the Mayfield Brass & Reed Band. All the Disney characters Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse, Snow White, Shrek, Barney and lots more, as well as the biggest dragon in Ireland. Post parade circus show, fireworks at 7.30pm and Pot Belly Folk in the Castle Hotel from 9.30pm. On the 13th the Celtic Tenors will perform in the Briery Gap, with a pre St. Patrick's Eve Fashion Show being held there on the 16th. A St. Patrick's Eve céilí will take place in the Castle Hotel on the 16th. St. Patrick's Day will begin with mass in Irish at 10.30am, with Gerry McCarthy live in the Square at 2.00pm.
