The 15th Lough Gur Storytelling Festival takes place during the October bank holiday weekend and runs from Friday Night 23rd to Monday Night 26th inclusive. It promises a feast of entertainment with storytelling, traditional music, song, dance and drama. Each year the organisers manage to bring a quality programme and performers with a difference, and the 2009 programme promises to top previous years by bringing new and exciting performances and variety. Lough Gur is an ideal setting for this type of festival, as the area is steeped in legend and folklore. The superb facilities of the Honey Fitz theatre, with comfortable, tiered seating and the prehistoric atmosphere of the Interpretive Centre at Lakefront are ideal venues for all - both young and old - to participate and enjoy the events.
