Drogheda Samba Festival is a 3-day celebration of samba, Latin and African music and dance - and lots more. It includes workshops, indoor and outdoor gigs and a carnival parade. Samba and Latin groups from all over Ireland, the UK and further afield invade the town with their colourful costumes and vibrant music. Most gigs are free and the acts range from top professional groups to community-based samba schools who come to party and exchange ideas as well as perform. The carnival parade features all the bands and local community groups. The public are free to join in as well. It's a weekend of pure fun.
