Dingle Races in August is one of the most famous meetings on the Horse and Pony racing circuit calendar. Running for over 100 years this meeting is steeped in history. There are three circuits in Ireland - the Northern, Midlands and Southern circuits. During the spring/summer season each region has their own racing meetings. In August every year all three regions meet in Dingle for the ultimate race weekend where the best horses and jockeys from each region go head to head. Horse and pony racing or 'flapping' is where it all starts for young jockeys. This is where they are first introduced to competitive racing. All of the top Irish jockeys today both flat and jump started out in Dingle as teenagers. As well as racing there is music, entertainment and fun for all the family in Dingle Races. 2013 dates to be confirmed.
