The Belfast Festival just keeps getting bigger and better every year and is now in its 50th year. Appealing to everyone from the committed theatre-goer to those with a fleeting interest in cinema, the festival now encompasses dance, theatre, new music, jazz, blues and world music, folk and roots, exhibitions, comedy, film and education. Over the years, it has attracted such illustrious names as Jimi Hendrix, Laurence Olivier and Dizzy Gillespie.
