The Percy French Festival/Summer School
Castlecoote
10 July 2013 - 12 July 2013
The Percy French Summer School and Festival 2013 programmes a number of lectures and concerts investigating the historic and cultural influences of the remarkable life of William Percy French, songwriter, painter and poet. The school takes place in the magnificent rooms of the wonderful historic Castlecoote House, where talks on Percy French's paintings, the historical background to his work, lunchtime recitals and evening concerts feature. Whether you're a fan of Percy French's favourites such as 'The Mountains of Mourne', 'Phil the Fluther's Ball' or 'Are you Right there Michael', or simply someone with an interest in history, either local or national, then you'll learn lots about the man behind the lyrics and the social realities of his era at this year's Percy French Summer School and Festival.
