The Gerry Whelan Weekend is an Irish music, singing and dancing event. It is a weekend for young and old, who all come together to celebrate Irish music and culture through music, song and dance. This is a weekend of music, singing and dancing that includes a memorial concert with guest artists and local and visiting musicians, workshops on fiddle, button accordion, banjo, tin whistle, singing and sean-nós dancing, a gig rig and street music, caint agus comhrá, singing and storytelling events, an oiche cois tine event and pub sessions. It is a weekend for young and old who all come together to celebrate Irish music and culture through music, song and dance. This event is now in its 9th year and has become a well established event in the Irish music calendar. The event has grown year on year and has attracted new people each year who continue to come back to enjoy the great music and songs shared at this event. There is a warm welcome for everyone and lots of tunes and sons are shared through concerts, music workshops and sessions.
