Mullingar Show is run by a committee and is a not for profit company that attracts entries from across Ireland. There are classes to reflect the traditional agricultural strengths of Westmeath in pedigree and commercial cattle and sheep showing and sheep shearing competitions. Horse and pony showing are traditionally very strong at Mullingar Show and in 2010 special needs classes were introduced. There is always a large entry in the show jumping, an old tradition of excellence. There are also classes for poultry, horticulture, cookery, arts and crafts, photography, dogs, along with a large area of indoor and outdoor stands, a food village and various displays - Westmeath Hounds Ballygarret Foot Beagles, animal petting and pony rides, etc. In 2013 it is planned to have the Irish Lumberjacks Display Team, Irish Artists Blacksmiths Association Displays, dog agility displays, working gundog displays and more. With such variety the whole family is sure to have a fantastic day's entertainment, so come along on 14 July 2013!
