Athlone Agri-Show, in the heart of Ireland, is regarded by exhibitors and spectators as being in the top five shows in Ireland. The livestock section is probably the best display of pedigree and commercial cattle to be seen. Most of the pedigree ovine breeds are catered for with national finals in the commercial section. In the equine section there are 9 rings in action with well over 1000 exhibitors participating. The" 'Made in the Midlands' food village is a must visit with over 100 stands. Also, the largest poultry show in the midlands, a super dog show for large and small animals, indoor and outdoor trade stands, kid's amusements, a beer garden, live music and dancing all day long, a monster tug-o-war and sheaf tossing.
