Outdoor Carlow - Off the Beaten Track

Borris

13 September 2013 - 15 September 2013

Taking place over three days, Outdoor Carlow - Off the Beaten Track will offer walks each day for various levels of fitness. Local guides will lead you through beautiful unspoilt landscapes, with some walks focusing on specific topics such as history and heritage. The Blackstairs Mountains offer many varied lowland and upland walks with glorious views over the surrounding countryside while the walks in the Barrow Valley are along a serene grassy riverside towpath. Take the weight off your feet in the evening in the welcoming atmosphere of a local pub while listening to traditional music and getting to know the guides and other participants. Whether you join in for one day or all three, you will be pleasantly surprised at what Ireland's second smallest county has to offer! With lots of other outdoor activities in the area from canoeing to hang gliding to cycling; with glorious gardens, monuments and ecclesiastical sites to visit; and with several bustling towns and charming villages in the county, there really is something for all the family and plenty to keep you occupied during an extended visit to this beautiful part of Ireland.
