SwimAthy is an open water swimming event which takes place in the River Barrow against the heritage backdrop of White Castle and Crom-a-boo Bridge. There will the following five different race distances to choose from at the 2013 event: SwimAthy 400m; SwimAthy 750m; SwimAthy 1,500m; SwimAthy 3,000m; and SwimAthy 5,000m. Wet suits are compulsory for this event. For many, SwimAthy is a great way to build up a steam towards a summer of outdoor fitness. For others SwimAthy is a welcome opportunity to take in some open water practice in advance of the TriAthy triathlon which takes place a few days later. See website for more details.
