Waterford Garden Festival
Waterford City
03 May 2013 - 12 December 2013
Find your roots at the Waterford Garden Festival this summer; discover the best of Waterford's private visitor houses and gardens in a jam packed 10 day celebration. Explore the county from the mountains to the sea as you journey along the Waterford Garden Trail this May. Peep into the 'great houses' that line the banks of the river Blackwater to see how the other half live. Trace your own family tree in the shade of century old forests and learn of the long lineage of Lord Waterford of Curraghmore and the Villier Stuarts of Dromana Estate. Art lovers will enjoy the galleries at Lismore Castle and Fairbrook House; painters can brandish their own brushes to commit the beauty of Tourin House Gardens to canvas. Photographers and nature enthusiasts too will have their passions indulged. Many events are suitable for families but some are just for younger audience members; mud and mess, digging and dirt- what could be more fun? Adults too can get their hands dirty when we get back to basics with hands on GIY (Grow It Yourself) workshops. Professional gardeners will be on hand to lend advice and share knowledge with seasoned horticulturalists and aspiring amateurs alike. Sit back and enjoy or get out and active; the choice is yours and the Waterford Garden Trail is yours to uncover.
