Elemental Arts & Culture Festival 2013 is a three day event encompassing the arts in all guises, with a green ethos behind it. The title, Elemental, is inspired by the five elements of Nature, Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Metal .In keeping with The Gathering 2013, a special emphasis will be placed on the people of Limerick, Ireland and beyond, given that they are one of the key elements which make limerick unique. Without them, there would be no festival. All the elements of Nature will be represented in the type of acts and performers/artists taking part, with one or more of the elements forming a key part of their performance. Some of the planned events for the 2013 will be forgotten skills such as blacksmithing, copper smithing, Limerick lace-making and flute making which will highlight the local craft heritage. A local lost hero will be featured - someone from the past who has a connection to Limerick - to show us where we have come from and how proud we can be of the achievements of one of our own, inspiring us to be all that we can be. Elemental Arts and Culture festival is a celebration of what makes Limerick great, its people and place and is throwing the doors open to create a citywide party atmosphere for three days.
