A Festival of Folk and Trad with the National Folk Theatre of Ireland

Tralee

08 May 2013 - 21 September 2013

Siamsa Tíre brings together the people of Kerry and visitors from all over the world to enjoy the best of Irish culture - music, song and dance. Come along for a performance in this wonderful theatre in Tralee, looking out over the Dingle Peninsula. Performances include Clann Lir (which draws on one of the legendary jewels of Irish storytelling - The Story of the Children of Lir) and Oileán (Oileán celebrates the way of life of the islanders from the Great Blasket Island - capturing the essence of their traditions and customs, their wealth of song and story, their love of life and their strong kinship with one another). Siamsa Tíre protects, develops and explores Irish culture and traditions, who we are, where we come from and who we are going to be. Thousands of visitors to Kerry have enjoyed performances of Irish music, song and dance as a highlight of their trip to Ireland. There is an energy, a wildness, a passion about these performances, using the best of traditional arts, which come together to create a memorable and emotional experience for our visitors. 2013 dates to be confirmed.
