Crom Estate, Co. Fermanagh

Set on the shores of Upper Lough Erne in Co. Fermanagh, Crom is one of Ireland's most important nature conservation areas. Wild deer, pine marten (who are a member of the weasel family) and many rare species including butterflies can all be found on the estate. Also inhabiting the surrounding area are all eight species of native bats and an outstanding array of rare lichens. The 2,000 acre demesne contains ancient woodland, tranquil islands, estate cottages and Old Crom Castle, all linked by the breathtakingly beautiful landscape designed by W.S.Gilpin in the 19th century.

Enjoy an inspirational walk through the woodland and along the nature trails, where you can also enjoy spectacular views along the Kingfisher Cycle Trail.

If you are enjoying a boating holiday along the Shannon-Erne Waterway there is even a jetty for boats to stop at. For the fishing enthusiasts there is an opportunity to partake in coarse angling and pike fishing.

On the estate itself there are historic buildings, holiday cottages and campsite, children’s play area and wildlife exhibition. Guided tours can be arranged.

Upcoming BBC comedy series 'Blandings' filmed at Crom in 2012

BBC comedy series, Blandings, was filmed at Crom Castle earlier this year. The series stars well-known actors such as Timothy Spall (The King's Speech; Harry Potter), Jennifer Saunders (Absolutely Fabulous; French & Saunders), David Walliams (Little Britain; Dinner for Schmucks) and Mark Williams (Harry Potter; Stardust) - just to name a few!

Storyline:
