Boots and warm clothing advised if you are tackling the Cuilcagh summit. Start at the gated forest track heading east. After crossing 2 streams turn up the grassy path between some young trees and head to the grey rocks ahead. Beyond the stile, follow thegravelly Ulster Way path along to the big beech trees at the woods end.
One route to Cuilcagh summit is waymarked, another route passes the ancient burial cairns of Myalla; regardless of the route you take you should turn back if the weather deteriorates. On your return journey go left along the leafy track and look out for orchids, yellow flag iris and ferns. Carry on down past tiny fields hedged with thorn and briar, reaching the gate on the Marble Arch Road.
For those wanting to stay nearby, the very popular Arch House Guesthouse is within walking distance. See www.archhouse.com
