Enniskillen Town Walk

Add to My Ireland Enniskillen Fermanagh - Northern Ireland

Enniskillen is beautifully situated on an island at a narrowing of the waters between Upper and Lower Lough Erne. Take time to discover the hidden corners, numerous cafes and art and craft stores. Savour the unique feel of the town as you walk over bridges, past jetties and along the river. Enjoy the reed beds, the ducks and other wildfowl. Visit Castle Coole, or Enniskillen Castle. Walk by the old stonewall, or gaze up at the Cole Monument which legend has it inspired a young Oscar Wilde to write the 'Happy Prince'.

There are a variety of different routes to take through Enniskillen, they are all easy grades walk mostly over pavements and tarmac paths. Gradients are reasonably gentle but the walk up to Forthill Park is more demanding.
