The Flax Gallery

Add to My Ireland Newtownabbey Antrim - Northern Ireland

The Flax Gallery is Museum at The Mill’s contemporary display space which plays hosts to a diverse range of exhibitions throughout the year. This purpose built venue provides a showcase for both new and established artists, supports local group exhibitions and provides the perfect setting for touring exhibitions of regional, national and international interest.

The gallery is housed within Mossley Mill, a flax spinning mill in County Antrim which dates back to the early 1800s.

The original mill buildings have been sensitively conserved by Newtownabbey Council and the interiors adapted for modern day use whilst the mill dam is now an important habitat for a whole range of wildlife.
