The cross stands opposite the church yard wall in the pretty village of Tynan, Co. Armagh. Dating back to the 8th/9th century it is very ornamented. The cross consists of a number of fragments of different crosses mounted on top of one another. According to tradition Cromwell’s soldiers vandalized the earlier crosses.
