Add to My Ireland Antrim - Northern Ireland

Situated off the Ballymoney/Armoy Road are the ruins of the 13th century Lissanoure Castle. It was the birthplace and home of Lord McCartney, the first British Ambassador to China. The Castle was destroyed in one of the biggest explosions ever heard in North Antrim when caskets of gunpowder ignited on 5th October 1847.

The Coach House and Courtyard within the ruins of the castle have been beautifully restored to host weddings, corporate entertainment and private parties with a seating capacity of up to 140.
