Opened in 2004 The Old Post Office Tea Rooms are situated on the picturesque shores of Strangford Lough in the village of Lisbane, Co. Down, between Comber and Downpatrick. Dating back to the 1840s, this grade B listed thatched building lay derelcict for 14 years. Using original bog oak beams the building was sympathetically restored.
Owned and managed by local couple Alison and Trevor Smylie we pride ourselves on its morning teas with cinnamon scones, wholesome lunches and afternoon coffees all made in our own bakery and using the freshest of local produce.
You will be enchanted by the traditional charm of our gift shop, with items such as pottery, jewellery, children's wooden toys, candles and novelty items. Throughout the Old Post Office you will be able to admire beautiful artwork supplied by talented local artists. Our setting is also perfect for small functions or touring parties.
