Add to My Ireland Youghal Cork - Ireland South

In Youghal County Cork is the Fox's Lane Folk Museum, a fascinating display of 600 beautifully restored domestic gadgets and appliances, covering the 1850s to the 1950s. You will see laundry equipment, manually operated vacuum cleaners, pre 1900 sewing machines, the Edison Phonograph and early gramophones, rare telephones and typewriters and all sorts of food preparation and cooking equipment. There are also unusual obsolete items like button hooks, glove stretchers, curling tongs, sugar crushers, sausage makers, the cucumber straightener, hat iron, moustache cup, egg topper, Victorian shower unit and ice box and much more. You can also step into a traditional Irish kitchen of 100 years ago. There is a museum questionnaire available, providing a unique record of your visit. Children under six go for free and family prices are €10.
