James Joyce House of the Dead is one of Dublin's most important literary and historic buildings. Located in the city centre, it's where Joyce set his famous story, “The Dead”. Director John Huston located his film of the story here. You can take one of the daily tours or rent the house for any event, party, business meeting, wedding, dinner or wake. Here in The James Joyce House of The Dead, we celebrate and recreate the atmosphere of the dinner party of the century as described by James Joyce in The Dead (Dubliners). There is a contemporary art gallery in the house, this May and June sees an important exhibition: “Ned at the Dead”: Ned Kelly and his Irish connections. Bloomsday will be celebrated in style in a series of musical and literary events in the house. Over the past 18 months, some 450 Million people around the globe have read about the restoration of No. 15 Usher's Island. Not bad for what was intended to be no more than the fulfillment of one man's dream. The house is open all week from 10am until 5pm.
