The Genealogy and Local History Project was established in 1989 with the objective of compiling a database of Parish Registers, and other genealogical material for Dublin City. This work is ongoing and is intended to form part of the Irish national genealogical product. The project does not provide a full genealogical searching service. The project index records up to the year 1900. Searches can be performed only on the data already entered into the database. There is no charge for this search facility. The Dublin Heritage Group's activity in the area of genealogical research is facilitated through the operation of a Community Training Project assisted by FAS, the Irish National Training and Employment Authority.
