Clifden Station House

Clifden Station House is a modern hotel set around the old railway station in Clifden, County Galway. More than 70 years ago, the last steam train departed and today, the station, platform and engine house have been magnificently restored and transformed into a hotel offering traditional Irish hospitality combined with modern amenities. All 78 guest rooms at Clifden Station House are furnished to a three-star standard and include ensuite bathroom, ironing facilities, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, multimedia entertainment system, Internet access, tea and coffee facilities, and more. There is one fully accessible room, which is entirely wheelchair friendly. There are three other rooms that are wheelchair accessible and also self-catering units. Dining at Clifden Station House is a unique experience. The Station House dining room is a must, as it serves creative menus for breakfast and dinner each day. For a pre- or post-dinner drink, there’s the cosy Library Bar, while the Signal Bar is an atmospheric building with memorabilia and a lively bar that serves food throughout the day. The bar hosts regular live entertainment and shows all the big sporting events. At Clifden Station, there’s always time to unwind at the hotel’s White Flag award-winning leisure centre. Facilities include a swimming pool, jacuzzi, children’s pool, steam room, sauna and fully-equipped gymnasium. There is also a range of fitness classes, which are open to hotel guests. In and around Clifden, visitors will find a host of things to do. The hotel is situated in the town centre, with a great selection of shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants within walking distance. There are also many scenic walking and driving routes, boat cruises and historic sites like Clifden Castle and the Dan O’Hara Homestead in the area.
