Farmgate was established in Midleton over 20 years ago and 11 years later they also moved to the English Market in Cork City. Situated on the balcony at the Prince’s St. entrance in Cork’s historic food market, Farmgate has won many awards. At the heart of their ethos is the idea that food should be both local and seasonal and prepared simply. The menu is based on availability from the stalls downstairs, including wonderful fish, local free - range chicken, Irish lamb and beef and seasonal fruit and vegetables. It specialises in traditional dishes such as Cork Tripe and Drisheen, corned beef and mutton and oysters which are delivered directly to the table from the fish stall downstairs.
