Howth Dublin Ireland East

This easy walk makes an ideal quick escape from the city, being just 15km outside Dublin. Howth Head, immortalized in James Joyce’s Ulysses, has a bustling village with a Martello tower and a lighthouse. Your walk starts in the centre, skirts along the harbour then leads you up onto a clifftop path for stunning views. Wildlife lovers should keep a close eye out for seals frolicking offshore, and pay a visit to the bird sanctuary at Ireland’s Eye (a small island accessible by boat).
