Slieve Foye
Delight the senses with a visual feast over Carlingford Lough from the heights of Slieve Foye.
The charming, medieval village of Carlingford lies in the shadow of the 588m-high Slieve Foye Mountain. A trip to the summit is a relative doddle for experienced trekkers. Fit novices might like to try it accompanied by expert mountain hikers during the annual Tàin Walking Festival in October. The reward on reaching the summit is a view over sea and peak and, on a clear day, the Isle of Man. Descend over the back of the mountain through forest trails, which eventually lead round and down to the village from where you started.
