O Briensbridge Clare Ireland West

Noted for its angling and watersports opportunities, the O’Briensbridge area is surrounded by waterways and is, without a doubt, one of the most idyllic areas of Limerick to take a stroll. The two loops, Errinagh Bridge and Old Barge, are situated around the Errinagh Canal, which was built to navigate boats and barges to the bustling city of Limerick. Today, the canal is being developed as a marvellous recreational amenity, and these two loops use what was originally the towpath for horses as they pulled their barges in the good old days.
