Plan Your Cruise

You definitely don’t have to forgo luxury as soon as you step aboard, there’s a lot more to a cruising vacation than meets the eye!

Accommodation

Tailoring your cruise to suit your own particular needs is as simple as could be, with cruise operators ensuring that every boat is fitted out to the highest standards, including all the necessary essentials and safety equipment, bedding, full cooking facilities, toilets, showers and central heating. Binoculars, first aid kits, rowing dinghy and lifejackets to suit all sizes are standard equipment, while some even include cell telephones in case you need to contact your operator during your vacation.

Tour operators

If you don’t fancy organizing everything yourself, then sit back, chill out and let somebody else do the hard work for you with a tour operator that can organize everything from flights and transfers, even coming up with suggestions on where you can stop off on to enjoy gourmet meals, family entertainment and stunning sites, all within easy reach of your waterside location.

Getting Around

Ireland is easy to get around with a good road network that is constantly improving and cutting down travel times. Car rental is available throughout the country and at airports, and rental car companies are making it easier to get around with various pick-up and drop-off points. Depending on your operator, some will allow different drop-off points if they have multiple bases, however, some allow you to do a circular route, which means you can pick up your car exactly where you left it!

The country is also well served with an excellent public transport infrastructure with rail services, buses and coaches reaching even the most remote areas. Log onto Iarnrod Eireann, Bus Eireann for bus and rail transport in the Republic, and Translink for bus and rail travel in Northern Ireland.

Flying is also an excellent choice for anyone that’s short on time. There are operators offering flights from regional airports including Dublin, Shannon, Cork, Belfast, Aran Islands, Donegal, Kerry, Knock and Sligo and City of Derry Airport. Visit Getting There for information on flights to Ireland and Getting Around for details of the numerous internal flights available
