The Meetings B&B

The Meetings restaurant, lounge, bar and B&B boasts a very unique location: it is situated in the heart of the scenic Vale of Avoca, overlooking the Meeting of the Waters where the Avonmore and Avonbeg rivers come together to form the Avoca River, this is where the poet Thomas Moore in 1807 wrote the words of the Irish Melody 'The Meeting of the Waters'. The restaurant at the Meetings is in a cosy and personal room serving traditional Irish food. The lounge situated at the front of the building offers a wide range of food from tea, coffee and scones to a full lunch menu and an evening bar menu. Every weekend there is music in the lounge, so for good food, good craic and great entertainment visit the lounge any weekend. The Workman's Bar located to the front of the building, offers television, dartboard, pool table and juke Box. Located at the rear of the building and overlooking the meeting of the Avonmore and Avonbeag Rivers, the function room is ideal setting for every occasion with no party too big or too small. The Meetings B&B, quaintly named Robin's Nest, offers excellent ensuite accommodation. As Thomas Moore wrote: "There is not in this wide world a valley so sweet, As that vale in whose bosom the bright waters meet! Oh the last rays of feeling and life must depart, Ere the bloom of that valley shall fade from my heart"
