Pets entering Ireland from the U.S.
There are no restrictions on animals being brought into Ireland from the U.S.. There are special regulations applied to some dogs, for example pit bull terriers.
Pets entering Ireland and the UK from the continent
Pets entering the island of Ireland from the U.S. are subject to six months quarantine unless they have undergone the requirements of the UK Pet Travel Scheme and obtained the requisite ‘Passport for Pets’ and entered Ireland through the UK. There are special regulations applied to some dogs, for example Pitbull Terriers. For more information relating to pets contact:
