Straffan —County Kildare

Straffan is a small village close to Celbridge and Maynooth. It has many local attractions including the Steam Museum and the Butterfly Farm. The Steam Museum exhibits unique stationary fully restored Steam Engines from the 1830's. The Straffan Butterfly Farm provides an interesting attraction with live butterfly exhibitions. Also on display are reptiles and spiders! Morell Farm is an exhibition of rare and endangered breeds of farm livestock and poultry. The K-Club, the venue for the Smurfit European Open, is on the outskirts of the village. Also located just outside the village is Barberstown Castle Hotel, a tower house with Elizabethan and 19th century additions.
