Inniskeen —County Monaghan

Inniskeen is full of images and reminders of the poet Patrick Kavanagh who was born there in 1904. The Patrick Kavanagh Literary & Resource Centre is housed in the Church which Kavanagh attended as a boy. In the graveyard next to the centre is the grave of Patrick Kavangh.
The area around Inniskeen has some fascinating features including a Round Tower, motte and bailey, and a primitive rocky area known as Deerpark where in excess of 100 specimens of ancient rock art has been identified.
